March

In March we had some unexpected events. My sister's dog Roscoe started having seizures. He was 8 almost 9 and had been with us since he was a puppy. He was Jill and Dustin's baby till Jax came, and then he was the best gaurd dog and friend to that little boy. He had the best personality and was just the best dog. He was a lab mix and had the cutest pink nose! Not many labs have the pink nose and that made him extra special. After he had 1 seizure he started having more and went down hill really fast. suddenly he wasn't that extra special dog we all knew and loved. He started having trouble getting up and down the stairs, had accidents in the house, which he NEVER did, and also would eat Jaxson's food as if he didn't know any better, and he did. It was a really hard week as Roscoe became worse daily. On Thursday March 21, heavan got another angle dog. He was all our dog and he is greatly missed! We will never forget him and he is irreplaceable.

Easter also happen in March this year. With each Holiday that comes, I just can't wait for this little baby to get here! Holidays are going to mean so much more and be way more fun with a kid! But untill she gets here, I was able to help dye eggs with Jax and plant jelly beans!
This was the first year in I don't know how long that we all didn't get together and go camping for Easter, this is also the first year that the weather was actually pretty warm on Easter.
and with another month, came another surprise!
The snow is slowly melting and the sun is shining bright, your baby girl is growing in weight and even height.
The pictures show how pretty your little girl will be, will she look like mom or dad, in 4 months you'll see.
A whirl wind of a month bringing so many fun things, lets see what the Irish and the Easter Bunny brings!
For mom and dad the bunny brings a baskey and a treat, The Irish brings a shamrock for your little girl so sweet!

Valentines Day

On Valentine's day we didn't do anything too special. Chris had the RV show so he was working really late hours. We did go out to a Jazz game as our valentines date and that was really fun. this month we reached the 1/2 mark in our pregnancy and I also started feeling her move! One night we were sitting watching TV and she was kicking like crazy!  Chris hadn't been able to feel her but she was really kicking hard, so I had him put his hand on the growing belly and she kicked so hard! The look on his face was the best ever! it brought tears to my eyes! a huge grin spread across his face! it was so cool!

we did get another surprise this month too from the pregnancy fairy.

This month is love and all things so sweet, This is the month daddy felt her little feet.
The excitement is growing and so is she, Can you picture how pretty she'll be?!
You are half way there; she'll be here in the summer time, This time next year she'll be your cute little Valentine!
These 3 items will give you a good start, to dress the little girl who will soon steal your heart.

more catch up and the pregnancy fairy

When I found out I was pregnant, there were so many emotions that came and so many things that happened. Things were said and not handled in the best way, but it’s over and done with and no airing dirty laundry on here. On a particular day that I was having an emotional break down, I got a “knock knock” text. Completely confused “thanks pregnant brain” the next text asked me to open the door.  When I opened the door there was a cute little bouquet of M&M’s and a cute little saying,
1+1 will soon equal 2, right now the happiness is for you.

The gossip will stop and the tension will fade, the attention will be on the baby you made.

Soon there will be a new little Horne, In 2013 your miracle will be born.

So don’t worry about all the immature drama, just worry about your family…. Soon you will be a baby mama.

The next little surprise came the next month

It began in October when you took that test, you were both so excited that feeling’s the best.

With this surprise we got my favorite treats and a bunch of free Redbox rentals! Again this appeared on a day that I was having a hard time! This preggo fairy has THE BEST TIMING!

February

February we enjoyed going to several Jazz games, thanks to Chris’ work. Every now and then he gets free tickets and sometimes they are in the suite and sometimes they are just lower bowl. When they are the suite; its extra nice because that means NO COOKING DINNER.

After our gender reveal ultra sound, 2 weeks later we did the 20 week ultra sound to check everything! We were actually about 22 weeks when we had the ultra sound so it was fun  to see how big she had got in 2 weeks. Everything looked great, but she wasn’t cooperating. She was laying facing my back with her legs crossed, so not only was it really hard to get a good profile picture, it was also impossible to DOUBLE check that she was still a girl. She was also quite funny when we went to get a good profile picture her hands/arms were in front of her face. She didn’t want to smile for the camera. I sure hope its not a taste of how difficult this little lady is going to be once she gets hereJ either way, she is already loved so much and will only be loved more if that is possible once she is!
Also when I told my wonderful neighbor that we were having a girl, she came over and spoiled us with PJ’s clothes and really cute headbands! Seriously we have the best neighbors ever!  Since moving in we have made so many new friends and its so much fun to hang out with people within walking distance!

Boy or Girl

Boy or Girl?

Once we returned from our babymoon we had a Dr. apt that Monday to find out if we would be having a boy or a girl. I knew all along it was going to be a girl, but Chris was still hopeful for a boy.  At every apt we got to hear the heart beat and each time according to the old wife’s tale it was the rate of a girl. I tried to get him to place a bet with me, like him having to cook dinner or do laundry or clean for a week if I was right, but he wouldn’t agree. I think deep down inside he knew it was a girl too. Our apt was first thing in the morning so we both had to go  to work afterwards. We got to the office and they took us right back. The whole ultrasound probably took maybe 5 minutes. The tech was really fast which I wasn’t too happy with, but knew we would be doing another ultra sound in another couple weeks. The tech after lubing up my belly went straight for the goods… I knew right away…. And she confirmed… It’s a GIRL!  Chris’ face showed a little disappointment but then went straight to a big grin! I of course got tears in my eyes! After we left the apt I sent a mass text message to everyone I know confirming that I was right and She, hopefully Berkley Haven Horne would be joining our family in July. We still have yet to agree on this name, but I just can’t think of another name that I like better.
Because every post is more fun with pictues, here I am trying to fit into dresses before our cruise,.... so about 16 weeks.

BABYMOON

Babymoon

In January we took a cruise down to the Caribbean. I called this our babymoon as this would probably be one of the last times we were able to be just us, soon we will be a family. We had gone to the Caribbean before we were married and could never stop thinking about the water and the beauty of the Caribbean. Because of the baby coming I didn’t want to take too much time off work because I want to save all my time possible to use when baby H gets here. We decided to fly in the same day we would be cruising out and also fly home the same day we doc. We have never done this before and now we understand why. The cruise was leaving out of New Orleans. We have never been there and should have known we would want to stay. It was right before Mardi Gras so the streets and everything was decorated and festive! But back to our flights…. THEY. WERE. HORRIBLE. the flight from SLC almost took off before schedule, we ended up getting delay in Dallas after running to find our terminal only to find the plane very small and very crowed complete with screaming baby on board. I tried to be happy but it was hot and crowded and I was starving, Chris was so cranky and stressed we were going to miss our boat and whole vacation for that matter and happy just wasn’t happening. We finally took off and landed safely in New Orleans, grabbed a cab and headed for the ship!

Once on board the ship we were much happier people and we were ready for our fun vacation to begin. We had 3 different stops on the cruise and a total of 4 days on the ship. We love cruises because in our opinion you get the best of both worlds, you get to relax and be lazy while at sea and then you get to go full throttle once on the islands!  Our first stop was, The Cayman Island we went snorkeling and also met a couple around our age which hardly ever happens on cruises. We snorkeled and rode around on this tiny little boat in the huge ocean!  I got a little sick but nothing too bad. We went and had lunch with the couple we met and ended up just walking around and looking at the city the rest of the day. I really need to be better at taking pictures, this is the only picture we have from this day.

The next day we went to, Cozmel. we decided we wanted to swim with stingrays, well, decided and was pretty much left with this. Being pregnant you can’t do a lot of the exciting excursion we usually do, but it was still really fun to swim with stingrays. The boat ride was about 20 min and then we were in the middle of the ocean at this big sand bar where we could stand up and the water was so clear! We also met another couple close to our age on this excursion which was a lot of fun too.

The last stop was in Jamaica. Again being pregnant you can’t do a whole lot of the fun adventurous things, but I still wanted Chris to have fun, so we went to this waterfall that you could hike up, I was able to walk along the side of the waterfall and take pictures while Chris got to climb right up the waterfall. It was still a lot of fun to watch him, but I really wish I could have gone too! But keeping this baby safe was more important. While Chris was getting ready, I talked to a Jamaican man on the beach who insisted we were going to be having girl! I had thought we were having a girl from day one, but everyone around me said boy and Chris wanted a boy so bad that I secretly wanted a boy too. Either way it didn’t matter to us because we really just wanted a happy healthy baby.

After 3 very fun exciting days at the different islands, it was back on ship and time to head home. The time on the ship was filled with naps, lounging on the deck reading, fun shows every night, and dinner in the dining room every night! Having someone cook and clean for you was the best! The food was great and I really enjoyed the desserts every night! It was fun to get dressed up and have dinner. I love the alone time we got to have and hopefully we will still be able to do dinner every now and then. This was the view from our deck every night on the way home!  It was amazing and the best to sit out there and watch the sun set.

We got back to New Orleans early in the morning and this brigde was so neat!We had a few hours to kill before our flight back to Utah. So we walked around the town and got a little taste of the parties that were about to take place. We wished so much that we would have stayed either before or after the cruise because New Orleans is such a cool place! I’m sure we will be back some day!

To top off our trip we ended up getting stuck in Denver on the way back because again, lovely UNITED AIRLINES, was not flying into SLC because of weather, every other airline was still going in and our family in SL said it wasn’t snowing or anything. I HATE UNITED. So we got to stay and pay for a hotel in Denver and then flew home first thing the next day. AND as a cherry on top of our wonderful flight experience already…. They lost our luggage!  So to sum up our trip, we had a GREAT time once on board, we will NEVER fly in or out the same day the cruise leaves or docks, and we will NEVER EVER fly with united again!

2012 Catch Up!

2012 year in review
I’ve said it before but this time I really mean it!  I need to keep this thing up to date! 2012 was quite the busy year for us and its only going to get crazier here on out. Keep reading for all the fun details!  This is going to be the LONGEST POST EVER but it will be so fun to look back on it!
January 2012 We took a mini vacay down to VEGAS! Had the best time! We went to 2 plays, Phantom of the Opera and the Beatles show. We also went and did the Hoover dam tour. This was really fun! We’ve been to Vegas so many times and never done this tour! It was defiantly something worth doing.

February 2012 We got some news about the mountain view corridor highway being build and possibly coming right through our house! I took no pictures this month so I really have no idea what else we didL

March 2012 again no pictures this month, but we were informed sometime last month or this month that the highway was indeed coming through our house, so we would be moving!  We decided to build and probably spent most of last month and this month looking at lots and talking with builders.
April 2012 Chris turned the big 25! He’s old now! But still not caught up with meL I started thinking about how old I was getting and the big empty house we would soon have. I also started thinking about growing our family. Maybe Chris would be ready now that he was 25. we went to the zoo with my nephew Jax. This month the building of our dream home started!  We were beyond excited and ready to move! Because a road was taking our house we worked a lot with UDOT and the city because they pretty much took/bought our house.

May 2012 We continued to build and watch the progress of our home. We drove to the lot every day and watched the changes!  Mother’s day came and we went to Tepenyaki for my very first time. It was AMAZING food and fun. We decided that we were ready to start a family so we stopped preventing that from happening. To say I was excited was an understatement.

June 2012 my sister’s and I went to our sister concert for the year…DAUGHTRY! He was so good and it was such a fun night! We our house was finished and we packed and moved into our new home! It was so exciting to be in a new house with sooo much space!

July 2012 I got the exciting news that I could now work from home! Which couldn’t have worked out better because hopefully a little one would be joining us! I no longer have to compute to the office everyday and get to roll out of bed and start working! I miss my friends at work but thankfully we still email A LOT and I get to go in for meetings at least once month. No other pictures, but I’m sure we went boating and had BBQ’s and enjoyed the summer!
August 2012 Chris and I decided to celebrate our anniversary early and just the 2 of us went to Disneyland. I was 27 years old and never been to Disneyland!  It was such a fun trip and so nice to have just couple time away from work and friends and everything else!

September 2012 we celebrated our 3 year anniversary!  The last 3 years has been pretty amazing and I can’t wait for more! Through thick and thin we love each other so much and I’m so happy we got married 3 years ago! We went to Ruth Chris’ steak house and was SHOCKED with the extravagant prices! We decided our new tradition for our anniversary will be going to the homestead for the night! Way more fun and pretty much the same cost!
October 2012 this month we got the news that our lives were going to be changed forever! I took a positive pregnancy test!  I took it about an hour before Chris got home and it was the LONGEST hour of my life! When he walked through the door, he hugged me like normal and I said, “are you ready to be a daddy?” and he just held me and said over and over, “really! really!” I cried and we were both so happy and excited! I found out about the 2nd week of October but was so excited that on my birthday I told my parents! We were at lunch with my mom and I said, “so guess what Chris got me for my birthday?” then I said, “a BABY!” good thing she was sitting down because she went white but was so happy and excited too! I had to text my dad because he was working, but his reply was priceless, “ oh wow!  Make my heart run and jump! I will be a great grandpa!” I also got even older this month and turned 28! I got a much needed and WANTED treadmill for my birthday.
November 2012 we took a trip with Chris’ dad and little sister down to Zion’s National park and Bryce Canyon. It was beautiful and I can’t believe this is our back yard and we have never been there to see it!  At the end of this month we went to my Dr. and got to hear our baby’s heart beat and see the little bean on an ultra sound. They gave us our due date of July 8th 2013!

December 2012 I finally got with the times and got me an iphone. Hopefully I will be able to take more pictures now! We got to put Christmas lights on our new house and it looked amazing!  So pretty! Christmas was also AMAZING and such a fun surprise. Our driveway is really steep and in the snow my car was not making it up. I had fallen in LOVE with the jeep Cherokee’s. They were 4 wheel drive, #1 safety rated,  and not to mention having a baby seat is much easier in an SUV vs a car specially with my back issues already! I had begged Chris for months that we should get one… but they were sooooo expensive!  Well Christmas morning came and I open a present that lead me on a scavenger hunt around the house and the final present…. Parked in the garage… my dream car… a Jeep Grand Cherokee!  Chris did make me compromise on the color, I would have picked white or grey, but he went with Red and I will deal with it!  I love it so much and It’s so nice not getting stuck in the snow/driveway!

And that my friends is our year for 2012… told you it was crazy! Can’t wait for 2013! I just know it’s going to be even crazier and I’m so excited!
