HAPPY NEW YEAR

New years eve

New Years eve has never been a really fun exciting holiday for me. It brings on a lot of Stress and worry. I hate to think about how many people drink and drive and how many people are so irresponsible. I like to have a low key night and last year was a lot of fun, so we decided to do a repeat! Nicci and Eric and their boys came over and my little sister Ashton decided since her husband was on nights and wouldn’t be home anyway, she would come hang out with us too! We had a lot of fun, we started the night watching the Jazz game and then I made yummy chicken dip so we munched on that and talked the night away. We played games and mixed or tried to mix some fun drinks. We played the newly wed game and had Ashton as the host. That game can be really fun but can also be really T.M.I. specially with a husband like mine! It was a pretty fun night anyways and at midnight I grabbed the pots and pans and gave them to the boys and we ran out to the streets banging and screaming happy new year, I’m pretty sure the boys thought I had had WAY TOO MUCH TO DRINK but really I just wanted to do that. We watched fireworks and then went in and drank a few more drinks that we really shouldn’t have. Then went to bed. A very low key fun night! The next day I should have started my working out and eating right, but I pretty much held the couch down and Chris and I watched football and basketball all day! What a waste! But so fun to do that every now and then! Hope everyone else had a safe and fun new year and hope this new 2012 year will be the best yet! HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL!

Christmas 2011

Christmas…..where to start. I’m going to attempt to get this blog up to date because I have seriously been slacking! Its just the last thing I want to do when I get home from work. I work on a computer all day every day so when I get home from work I don’t want to stare at a computer for even longer! But I really LOVE to look back and remember everything. So here I go.
Christmas turned out PERFECT! We ended up leaving for my parents house on Friday “with no arguing or anything”! Which was amazing since Chris isn’t the biggest fan of Huntington. So we got there in time for lunch and then Chris and my brother in law Dustin went off to the desert to shoot guns and be boys. Which was perfect, it left us girls alone to gab and gossip the rest of the day. The boys got back and we played taboo and dominos as a family! So much fun, but I didn’t get any pictures.

Then on Saturday we all headed out to the south fields to shoot more guns. Chris shot my dad’s muzzleloader for the first time! This gun is amazing and I will never forget when I was 5 years old and shot it for the first time! It is such a heavy gun and the force behind it is like no other gun! It was fun for my dad to teach Chris how to load and shoot the gun.

My mom tried really hard to have fun while all of us were shooting guns, but that is just not her idea of fun. She would much rather have stayed home and painted her nails or read a magazine. But she was a tropper and it was a nice family building memory!
Then on Christmas morning we got to wake up with Jaxson and that was one of the funnest things EVER! I was taking pictures of how cute he was and how much he freaked out when he seen his rock and roll Elmo, but I wasn’t taking the pictures with my camera. So I will have to post pictures later.
After the excitement of Jaxson was over, the rest of us began opening our presents. Chris and I hadn’t really talked about Christmas and presents for each other and we really should have! His Santa was horrible compared to mine. I was thinking we were not going to do much for each other for Christmas considering, we had just bought our new washer and dryer and we also went Hawaii so I was thinking that was pretty much our Christmas. BOY WAS I WRONG! I got Chris a few shirts and a lame helicopter. He is really hard to shop and by gifts for because he never wants anything and when he does want/need something he usually just goes and buys it! One of the things I really don’t like about him! So after he opened his lame presents, he gave me a tiny little box to open… my heart started racing as I ripped the paper off and open the box only to see “THE SHANE COMPANY” and a pair of sparkling diamond earrings inside!

He is such a great husband and always finds a way to completely take me by surprise! I love it, most of the time! He also got me some new clothes and a pair of much needed running shoes. I hate to admit this, but it is now January 17 and I have yet to put them on! My motivation didn’t come with the new year like I wanted it too and I have just been busy and also have been making A LOT of excuses! We all had a very merry Christmas and maybe next year Chris’ santa will be amazing like mine was this year!

Hawaii

We headed for paradise on December 10th. It was the longest flight ever! Really it was nothing compared to Argentina but I was so excited to be there it seemed like it was way longer! Plus we had a 3 hour layover in LA and that didn’t help much! We woke up early and didn’t get there till way late because of the lay over and the time change and everything. We stayed right on Waikiki beach! It was so nice! To say we did everything there is to do on Oahu would be an understatement. We didn’t stop moving the whole time we were there which really how often are you in Hawaii, why would you just want to sit around and do nothing.
We hiked Diamond Head in record time might I add. Chris is all about going, going, and going!
Pearl Harbor, was interesting and sobering. It was really sad to think about how many people were involved and died for our country.

Minoa falls, was defiantly they BEST waterfall we seen while there. And it was the only one that we didn’t have to pay for! We hiked through the rain forest to get to this waterfall, we were soaking wet with a mix of sweat and rain by the time we got there and I don’t think anyone could have been happier.

We walked through tons and tons of bamboo which I am now completely set on having that in my back yard at some point.

North Shore, was really neat to see and to watch all the suffers, but I couldn’t help but think about sharks and if we would see a tragedy happen, thankfully we didn’t.

Dole Plantation, where we ate the most amazing pineapple ice cream in the entire world! We went on a train ride through the plantation and learned that it take a REALLY REALLY long time to grow 1 pineapple.. over a year if I am remembering correctly.

The Polynesian cultural center was squeezed in at the end of one day, so we weren’t able to go to the different islands and learn about everything. Here we had our first authentic luau. Then we went to watch the show, Ha breath of life. It was really amazing to see how the Hawaiian culture evolved and how everything works. Really neat!

We went to another place where you were SUPPOSE to be able to swim at the bottom of the waterfall but because of the nonstop rain they wouldn’t let us in the dirty muddy water.

Here we walked through flowers and flowers and plants and trees and I even found a flower as big as my head!

I think the most exciting thing we did while there was….. SWIM WITH SHARKS! I still can’t believe that I did this! It was THE MOST TERRIFYING, exhilarating, amazing thing I think I have ever done! I mean really, how many people can say they swam with sharks! Too bad I was to petrified to take many pictures!! At one point we were able to count 10 sharks circling us! I literally thought my heart was going to jump out of my mouth! Best experience EVER!!

Chris by the shark tank before we left at 6:30AM!

On our last day there we took a catamaran boat along the coast where we see the black pearl from the pirates movies.

We watched whales and the dolphins put on quite a show for us! They would come right next to the boat and jump up and spin. We snorkeled and swam with sea turtles, one of the many things I was able to cross off my list! Sea turtles are pretty amazing creatures and they don’t mind swimming right next to you either. Chris was even able to touch one! Really really neat!
And to end the trip we went to none other but Senior Frogs. I had never heard of this place till I met Chris. My first experience here was the first time I went to Mexico with Chris and his family. Senior frogs is a one of a kind dining experience. The food is really nothing special but the entertainment is really why you go. They make these very inappropriate hats out of balloons. I’ve seen waiter dance on tables and sing and dance again very inappropriately. But it is such a good time!

The good time did come to an end and the flight home was a lot shorter than the way there. It was really fun to come back and relax for a day before going back to work. We defiantly needed to slow down and recover. Hawaii was amazing and so much fun! Its always fun to come home, but chris and I both agreeded, if our dogs could have been shipped to us, we probably could have stayed a few more days to soak up some sun and hang on the beach!
